Drawing still life

Just working on a new body of work using multi coloured drawing pens, which is a  new thing for me getting away from using oils.  It takes a little practice but finding my way using some lovely handmade papers.

I'm using Faber Castel black, white and grey and I know there is no rubbing out when you use pens, but have found using the white is a bit like a rubber so that's a good thing.  The main bit is a huge sapphire in the centre of a lovely necklace owned by Elizabeth Taylor, I photo copied this out of a book and offset the page, and have sketched the outline by hand, I don't use photoshop,  at all,  just by hand and then will add shadows when I get there, then I have added a figure, very kitch its an action figure to fly  over the mountain which is my focal point.  Its a lot of fun, takes a little more time when getting into my brushes but will keep up the post.

cheers,  rhonda.
